Dance Festival
Nearly forty children from Years 3 - 6 took part in the William Brookes School Dance Festival over two evenings.
All the pupils performed the first dance; children in Year 6 worked together to choreograph and perform their own
second dance.
The Dance Festival was a fantastic experience for the children and enabled them to perform on stage
in front of a large audience, which included many family members. It was lovely to see the pupils work co-operatively
to create and perform their memorable dances. The evening also gave pupils the opportunity to dance
alongside children from other local primary schools and older students from William Brookes School.

Congratulations to all the children who took part: we were very impressed by your hard work and dance-skills!

Cressage Cup
Pupils in Year 6 participated in this year's Cressage Cup - football and High-5 tournaments organised by Cressage
Primary School. This year the event was hosted by Broseley Church of England School.
Both our school teams performed well, with all pupils trying their best and demonstrating excellent sportsmanship.
Children in the High-5 team were delighted to come third in their tournament.

Frozen Kingdom
Recently, Year 6 pupils have focussed on a 'Frozen Kingdom' topic. They have explored this topic through many
curriculum areas and concentrated on different aspects of the theme; work on icebergs, the 'Sinking of the Titanic'
and the life of 'Scott of the Antarctic' have been particularly popular.
The children have produced a series of class books, which illustrate the range and high standard of work completed
through this thematic approach.

Blists Hill
Pupils in year 6 enjoyed a Victorian school day at Blists Hill.  This involved dressing in costumes provided by the museum, using slates to write on and experiencing some of the lessons and activities completed by school children in Victorian times.  Once back in school, they used the photographs they had taken and the information they had learned to create group presentations on the ipads.  They also made clay models of some of the buildings they had visited.
